Bell’s all-fibre network bringing broadband Internet to Louiseville

LOUISEVILLE, QC, April 24, 2019 – Bell and the City of Louiseville today announced a $3 million investment to bring Bell’s all-fibre network connections directly to approximately 4,000 area residences and businesses. Fully funded by Bell, the new network will deliver Internet speeds of up to 1.5 Gigabits per second (Gbps), the fastest data speeds available to consumers anywhere in Canada.

“This major Bell investment will give citizens access to superior service and will also help businesses by putting them at the cutting edge in terms of network speed,” said Yvon Deshaies, Mayor of Louiseville. “Today’s news will strengthen our position when we talk with companies who are looking for a place to build. Increasingly, Louiseville is becoming a very desirable location for entrepreneurs.”

“Bell is proud to bring the most advanced network technology to Louiseville,” said Bell Vice President Nicolas Poitras. “Access to the latest broadband connections for both residents and businesses will be key to the city’s continued social and economic prosperity now and into the future.”

Fibe TV and Alt TV
Bell’s advanced fibre network also delivers Canada’s best television services. Fibe TV offers superior picture quality, exclusive viewing features and more channels and on demand programing with the Fibe TV app than any other provider. Bell’s Alt TV is Canada’s first app-based live TV service that doesn’t require a traditional set-top box.

Bell’s fibre network deployment, including more than 180 kilometres of new fibre cable installed both underground and on existing poles, will reach 95% of residences in Louiseville and is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
