Bell Canada received this award in recognition of our 2005 workplace campaign, our corporate match of employee donations, the Bell/United Way prepaid calling card, our network of employee workplace campaign champions, our participation in the United Way Loaned Representative Program, our year over year increase in and overall donations, sponsorship of the United Way Ottawa 2005 community campaign kick-off event, and sponsorship of United Way Ottawa 2005 campaign pledge forms.
Bell Canada received the Leaps and Bounds Award from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for the company that most significantly improved its participation in the Ride for Diabetes Research. In addition, one of Bell's teams won the trophy for most kilometres pedaled.
The Bell Celebrity Gala is the winner of the 2004 and 2005 Canadian Events Industry's STAR Award for "Best Event produced for a Charitable Organization in Canada." The national award program recognizes outstanding achievements in Canadian special events, meeting management, conference planning and exhibition management.
Bell Canada received this award for more than 100 years of continuous operations in the community of Hamilton, Ontario. We were honoured with the award at the 2005 Outstanding Business Achievement Awards. Bell has a long and proud history in Hamilton including the first long distance line ever built which ran from Hamilton to Toronto.
