At BCE, responsibility starts at the top. The way we govern ourselves at the highest level sets the standard for everyone else in the organization.
Over the years, the Bell brand has stood for trust and integrity. We have worked hard to earn that trust, and we intend to keep it. Our commitment to sound principles of ethical business conduct, corporate governance and transparency remain unchanged. We believe that ethical business conduct and good corporate governance practices help create value for the stakeholders to whom we are accountable. We adhere to codes and guidelines in the letter and spirit in which they were written and in many instances, we exceed requirements.
One of the key indicators we use to measure our performance in this area is the GovernanceMetrics International (GMI) annual rating of worldwide corporate governance practices. In 2005, BCE was among only two Canadian companies that scored a perfect 10 in their global study.
