BCE is included in several leading global sustainability indices

FTSE4Good Global Index

FTSE Group confirms that Bell Canada has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series. Created by the global index company FTSE Group, FTSE4Good is an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards. Companies in the FTSE4Good Index Series have met stringent social and environmental criteria, and are positioned to capitalise on the benefits of responsible business practice.

Jantzi Social Index (JSI)

BCE is a member of the JSI, a socially screened, market capitalization-weighted common stock index modeled on the S&P/TSX 60. It consists of 60 Canadian companies that pass a set of broadly based environmental, social, and governance rating criteria. Data for the JSI is gathered by Jantzi Research Inc., an independent investment research firm that evaluates and monitors the environmental, social, and governance performance of securities.

Oekom Research

Oekom Research rates BCE as Prime, qualifying our bonds and shares for ecologically and socially based investment. Oekom is an independent rating agency that provides in-depth information on the environmental and social performance of companies, sectors and states. They cover over 750 international large & mid-cap companies to identify Corporate Responsibility Leaders.

CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project)

Since 2004 ,  Bell is a respondent to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) annual Investor Information Request for corporate climate change information.

ISO 14001

Bell is the first and only telecommunications company in Canada to obtain ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system.

Ethibel EXCELLENCE

BCE has been selected for inclusion in the Ethibel EXCELLENCE Investment Register since 2005, a status that was reconfirmed in February 2012.

LEED & BOMA BESt

In 2011, Bell also obtained BOMA BESt certification for 7 of its largest Québec-based buildings and BOMA Building of the Year for its Montréal LEED certified campus. Bell will seek certification for additional buildings throughout 2012, including LEED Gold for its data centre currently under construction.
