Excel Canada Lets You "Celebrate the New Millennium" With Savings on Prepaid Long-Distance

Mississauga , January 13, 2000 - Excel Canada is welcoming the New Year by
launching a new prepaid calling card, ¿Celebrate the New Millennium.¿ The card
offers consumers the convenience of making long-distance calls to and from
Canada or the United States, while away from their home or office, at a 30 to
50 per cent saving.

The new prepaid calling card sells for $10 plus applicable taxes, and provides
40 minutes of long-distance calling to and from Canada or the United States.

Unlike other prepaid cards, the ¿Celebrate the New Millennium¿ prepaid calling
card offers several advantages:
·	It comes with no hidden charges or fees; there are no monthly fees.
·	It is valid for a period of up to one year after the first call, or the
expiry date, whichever comes first; many competitors¿ cards expire six months
after initial use.
·	Each call costs $0.25 per minute; many prepaid cards currently on the
market have surcharges as high as $3.00 per call, offering a savings of 30 to
50 per cent on average.
·	There is no minimum calling time.
·	It can be used from any touch-tone telephone, anywhere in Canada and
the United States.
·	Customers can get assistance from Excel Canada¿s bilingual Customer
Services group to place a call during call centre working hours.

¿Prepaid calling cards are a growing trend in the long-distance market,¿ said
Steve Finlay, Excel Canada¿s Vice President of Product Marketing & Business
Development. ¿They offer consumers an appealing alternative to more traditional
payment methods, especially for calls made outside of the home or office. And
our new ¿Celebrate the New Millennium¿ prepaid calling card will provide
callers with competitive long-distance rates without having to switch their
regular long-distance carrier.¿

Excel Canada¿s ¿Celebrate the New Millennium¿ prepaid calling card is available
through Excel¿s national network of Canadian Independent Representatives. Excel
Telecommunications (Canada) Inc., a member of the Teleglobe group, provides
telecommunications in Canada.
