Bell expands broadband Internet service in the Niagara region

Wireless Home Internet brings high-speed connections to wine country and surrounding communities

NIAGARA FALLS, June 3, 2019 – Bell today announced the expansion of broadband Wireless Home Internet to communities and rural areas in the Regional Municipality of Niagara. Now available to eligible residences in Fort Erie, Grimsby, Lincoln, Niagara Falls, Pelham, St. Catharines, Thorold, Wainfleet, Welland and West Lincoln, Bell’s innovative high-speed Internet service will soon arrive in Port Colborne as well.

“Bell is proud to expand fast, reliable and affordable Internet service to communities of all sizes throughout the Niagara Peninsula with our revolutionary Wireless Home Internet service,” said Rizwan Jamal, President of Bell Residential and Small Business.

Wireless Home Internet is delivered over Bell’s advanced LTE wireless network in the 3500 MHz spectrum band. The new 5G-capable technology is designed to extend broadband Internet access to smaller towns, rural locations and other underserved communities.

To install Wireless Home Internet, Bell technicians place a small antenna outside a customer’s residence that connects to the Bell LTE network. Customers also receive the advanced Bell Home Hub modem to provide fast Wi-Fi throughout the home.

Wireless Home Internet can also be bundled with Bell Satellite TV, offering more than 250 live and on demand channels on tablets, smartphones, laptops and big screens with the Bell Fibe TV app.

Now available in more than 80 communities in Ontario and Québec, Bell’s Wireless Home Internet service is expected to reach more than 200,000 additional households in 138 centres this year, ultimately extending to 1.2 million households across 7 provinces.
