BCE is announcing the date of the final order for its plan of arrangement

MONTREAL,June 12 2006 --- On June 7, 2006, BCE Inc. (TSX, NYSE:
BCE) received approval from its common shareholders for the implementation of
a plan of arrangement (BCE Arrangement) providing for the distribution by BCE
of units in Bell Aliant Regional Communications Income Fund (Fund) and for the
consolidation of its outstanding common shares. The BCE Arrangement is subject
to final approval by the Superior Court of Québec and to the issuance of a
certificate of arrangement.
    At BCE's request, the Superior Court of Québec determined that it would
hear the Company's application for final approval of the BCE Arrangement on
Thursday, June 22, 2006. The hearing will take place at 1 Notre-Dame Est,
Montréal, Québec H2Y-1B6, in room 12.16, at 8:45 a.m.
    The distribution of units in the Fund to BCE common shareholders and the
concurrent share consolidation pursuant to the BCE Arrangement is expected to
take place shortly after the closing of the transactions leading to the
creation of the Fund. BCE will announce the anticipated effective date of the
BCE Arrangement by press release at a future time.
    BCE expects to finalize the BCE Arrangement once all of the closing
conditions with respect to the creation of the Fund are fulfilled and the
final approval of the Superior Court of Quebec is obtained.
