BCE Inc. Announces Redemption of 6.20% Series 14 Notes

MONTREAL (Québec), Nov. 6 -- BCE Inc. today announced that it will
redeem, prior to maturity, on December 6, 2000, all of its outstanding $300
million principal amount of 6.20% Series 14 Notes, due August 28, 2007, at a
price equal to 101.259% of their principal amount, together with accrued and
unpaid interest.
    BCE has decided to redeem its Series 14 Notes to facilitate a long-term
debt financing secured by Nortel Networks shares and forward contracts. The
financing is expected to be in place before the end of the year.
    A formal notice of redemption will be mailed today to all registered
holders of Series 14 Notes.
