Bell Canada expects a record number of Mother's Day greetings
TORONTO, May 11 /CNW/ - If last year is any indication, Mother's Day
should once again generate the largest volume of calls on a Sunday in Ontario
on Bell's network. Last year the volume of calls reached 7 million. This year
it is anticipated that the same level if not more will be obtained. On a
typical Sunday there are about 5 million calls made.
This year, Bell is offering its customers several services to help them
wish their mothers a very special day, be it via telephone, cellular or
Internet. For instance, customers can take advantage of First Rate's 10 cents
a minute calling, available weekdays after 6:00 p.m. and all weekend long. Or
they can send Mother's Day greetings on the Internet by e mail through Bell
Sympatico(TM). While they are at it they can enter Bell Sympatico's(TM) Mum's
the Word Mother's Day contest that offers winners fabulous prize packages from
The Shopping Channel.
In addition to a vast range of products and services, Bell World stores
are offering consumers certain promotions to celebrate the occasion, namely,
free weekend use for 3 months, as well as three months' free Message Centre
service for customers who initiate a RealTime activation on their cellular. So
no matter where they are, they will always be able to contact their families
and friends.
