Board of Directors has appointed Jean C. Monty as Chairman of the Board
following the BCE Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders held here today.
Mr. Monty is also Chief Executive Officer of the company.
    Mr. Monty has more than 25 years of experience within the BCE family of
companies and was previously President and Chief Executive Officer of BCE.
