BELL CANADA ISSUES MTN DEBENTURES
MONTREAL, April 13 /CNW/ - Bell Canada today announced the offering of
$300 million of MTN Debentures pursuant to its medium term debenture program.
The 6.00% Debentures, Series M-6, will be dated April 19, 2000, will mature
May 1, 2003 and will be issued at par for a yield to the investor of 6%
compounded semi-annually. The 6.00% Debentures, Series M-6 will be extendible,
on May 1, 2003, by means of an exchange privilege, to be exercised between
April 1 and April 11, 2003, permitting the holders to exchange the 6.00%
Debentures, Series M-6, for the 6.55% Debentures, Series M-3, due May 2029. In
the event holders elect to exercise the exchange privilege, Bell Canada will
pay to such holders on May 1, 2003, $14.00 per multiple of $1,000 of Series
M-6 Debentures to be exchanged. A pricing supplement relating to this issue
will be filed by Bell Canada with the various securities commissions in all
provinces of Canada.
TD Securities Inc., CIBC World Markets Inc., BMO Nestbitt Burns Inc., RBC
Dominion Securities Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., Merrill Lynch Canada Inc.,
National Bank Financial Inc., and HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc. will be acting
as agents with respect to the offering of the Series M-6 Debentures.
