The Bell Canadian Open : Golf at High Speed!

MONTREAL,July 31 2001 --From September 3 to 9, as many as 156
professional golfers will compete to win top honours at the Bell Canadian Open
-- Canada's most prestigious annual golf tournament on the Professional Golf
Association (PGA) tour. This year's tournament will be held at The Royal
Montreal Golf Club, on Ile Bizard. As title sponsor of the Open since 1994,
Bell Canada puts the expertise, technology and the strength of the extended
BCE family to ensure that the Open is a huge success.
    In addition to sponsoring the event, Bell will give tournament spectators
the opportunity to enjoy -live, online or via high speed- some of the most
entertaining interactive golf activities available. For instance, spectators
will have the opportunity to receive a video e-mail of a swing or a putt that
they have executed while participating at one of the Bell SYMPATICO HIGH SPEED
EDITION(TM) activities.
    With Bell ExpressVu spectators will have the chance to operate a giant
screen equipped with Golf-O-Max technology to evaluate the distance they can
hit a golf ball, and  with Bell Mobility's Mobile Internet, they will be able
to access -- anytime and from anywhere --, a wide range of tournament
information using wireless devices.
    And for the duration of the Bell Canadian Open, the www.bell.ca/cdnopen
Web site will provide comprehensive, updated information on the tournament,
the golf course, the golfers and each player's results. The Web site also
includes an email updates section, that allows registered surfers to stay
completely up to date on any tournament development, and an eCard feature that
enables any surfer to send a personalised Bell Canadian Open electronic card
to family, friends and playing partners.
    Conducted by the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA), the Bell
Canadian Open is the third-oldest national championship in the world, with the
British Open and the US Open. Established in 1904, the Bell Canadian Open is
also the fourth-oldest tournament on the PGA tour.
