Dobson Communications Awards Three-Year, US$120 Million Contract to Nortel Networks
Plans Expansion to Meet Near-Term Growth, Long-Term Demand for Wireless
Internet
DALLAS, Feb. 28 /CNW/ - Responding to continued, rapid subscriber growth
and anticipated demand for Wireless Internet services, Dobson Communications
has awarded Nortel Networks (NYSE/TSE: NT) a three-year, US$120 million
contract extension for expansion of its wireless networks in eleven states.
Nortel Networks will supply and install analog and TDMA IS-136 digital
wireless network infrastructure equipment to expand capacity of existing
Dobson Communications networks in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio,
Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Alaska, West Virginia and Michigan.
