Teleglobe unveils streaming of Milan fashion shows and pioneers the commercial
applications for Content Distribution Services in Italy

Milan February, 23, 2001 – Teleglobe (NYSE, TSE: BCE), a leading provider of
global communications and e-Business services, today announced its first
commercial offering of content distribution services, demonstrating live audio
and video streaming capabilities in Milan, Italy. Teleglobe indicated that it
will stream -live or on demand- a number of Italy’s Fashion Week shows,
February 24 thru March 7, for FashionWeb.net, the leading international fashion
portal for targeted web casting.

“Teleglobe’s content distribution services illustrate how the Internet has and
continues to evolve as a global vehicle that equips users with the resources to
address a wide range of needs, increasing productivity, expanding choices and
delivering the very latest information and entertainment,” said Lisa Donnan,
Teleglobe’s President – United States Sales and e-Business Solutions. “As the
Internet continues to evolve, our content distribution capabilities will
naturally expand. These rich media management services bring new opportunities
for businesses which are innovative and creative in their approach to
communications.”

Kataweb, a leading Italian news, audio and video portal, and Trip Multimedia, a
leader in multi-media interactive communications, are also among Teleglobe’s
initial customers for its streaming services. Internet content providers
(ICPs), such as FashionWeb.net, Kataweb and Trip Multimedia, can now distribute
content such as fashion shows, radio programming and other audio and video
products to audiences worldwide. Other potential streaming applications include
on-line trading, e-commerce as well as private radio and TV broadcasts.

ICPs can focus on creating content, while Teleglobe manages and operates a
reliable global content distribution network. Teleglobe’s streaming media
services support both live and on-demand content using Real, Windows Media
Technology (WMT), or QuickTime formats.

The company provides content delivery to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in
more than 110 countries by deploying servers around the world, enabling end
users to obtain local access to streamed content.

“We are using a new medium to reach out to a broader professional audience and
better serve the fashion industry,” said FashionWeb.net CEO Corrado
Ricciardi. “With Teleglobe’s streaming media services, we have the ability to
deliver rich images, present designer fabrics and illustrate how designs flow.
This provides designers, retailers and the media new and improved methods to
evaluate the designs and make selections. The fashion industry is steeped in
tradition, yet we can
now use the most current technology to bridge the distance between these
influential groups. In essence, we can bring new collections to a much larger
audience, in a controlled and targeted way as requested by the designers.”

“Through Teleglobe we are now able to provide the first production center for
streaming audio and video contents for WEB TV, general packet radio standard
(GPRS), universal mobile telephone standard (UMTS) in Italy, said Paolo Monesi,

meet the new communication and on line advertising needs, with sophisticated
products and services for interactive multi-media communication.”
