Teleglobe announces the mailing today to its shareholders of a
Notice of Special Meeting of the holders of common shares to be
held on Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. (Montreal time)
at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, 900 Rene-Levesque Blvd. West,
Montreal, Quebec, Galerie 1. This meeting is called to seek
approval for a proposed arrangement under the Canada Business
Corporations Act involving Teleglobe and BCE with respect to the
acquisition by BCE of all outstanding common shares of Teleglobe
not already held by BCE or its affiliates. The Management
Information Circular of Teleglobe describing the arrangement has
been sent to all holders of record as of September 18, 2000.
