Even if you can't go to Athens to see the 2004
Summer Games, Bell ExpressVu lets you experience the Olympics like never
before from the comfort of your home. In time for today's Opening Ceremonies,
Canada's digital TV leader today launched several unique services to provide
subscribers across the country with the ultimate TV viewing experience for the
Olympic Games.
Increasing its lead in delivering the most innovative interactive
television (iTV) experience in North America, from August 13-29, Bell
ExpressVu is offering its subscribers several unique applications and
exclusive on-screen features to enhance their viewing enjoyment of the Summer
Games, including:
- The Athens 2004 LaunchPad (channel 336) - a bilingual mosaic of four
video feeds of Olympic coverage from the CBC, SRC, TSN and RDS
provided to all of Bell ExpressVu's customers, regardless of the
programming package to which they subscribe;
- CBC Sports Plus (channel 335) on-demand information and
up-to-the-minute statistics on the competition in Athens;
- A customized grouping of all 12 channels showing Olympic coverage
during the Games on its electronic program guide (EPG) from channels
335 to 346; and
- A new iTV LaunchPad on Channel 275 (Channel 181 in French),
re-designed to be easier to use, with quicker access to a selection
of interactive TV services.

Athens 2004 LaunchPad
The Athens 2004 LaunchPad is a video only, bilingual channel that serves
as a quick 'reference guide' to what's on and where to find it. By tuning to
channel 336 during the Games, all Bell ExpressVu customers can watch four
simultaneous video channels - CBC, SRC, TSN and RDS - and quickly see what
events are currently being shown by the Canadian broadcasters covering the
Olympics.
CBC Sports Plus
Available to more than 700,000 Bell ExpressVu customers with iTV-ready
receivers on channel 335, CBC Sports Plus allows viewers to enhance the CBC
English television coverage of Athens 2004 with the ability to:
- Read headline news from CBC Sports;
- Review the schedule of live events to be broadcast on the CBC's
daily TV coverage of the Olympic Games;
- Check regularly updated medal standings for all participating
countries; and
- Learn about Canada's top 20 athletes and browse through the entire
list of the Canadian Olympic Team members.
Customers can do all of this while continuing to watch the CBC television
broadcast! This service is provided at no charge to all Bell ExpressVu
customers with iTV-ready(*) receivers.
Athens 2004 Channel Line-up
Available to more than 1.4 million customers on a single TV screen, Bell
ExpressVu's convenient channel grouping makes it simple for customers to find
and watch real-time Olympic coverage from the four Canadian broadcasters
carrying the Games from Athens, as well as standard-definition and high-
definition (when available) coverage from NBC and CNBC.
