SAINT JOHN, NB,Aug. 28 2000 --NBTel Mobility customers in Fredericton
can now benefit from Digital technology, according to the President of NBTel
Mobility, Roxanne Fairweather. Fairweather announced today the arrival of
Digital service in the Capital city, part of NBTel Mobility's ongoing
investment in New Brunswick's cellular network.
    Digital customers will experience the next generation of cellular service
that offers all of the benefits of traditional cellular service while
incorporating many new features including longer battery life, enhanced
privacy, better voice clarity, call display and per second billing on select
rate plans.
    "One of the key benefits of digital service is the extended battery life.
Customers using a digital phone on the digital network can talk for up to
three times as long as compared to traditional cellular", said Ms.
Fairweather. "Digital phone conversations are also more private as digital
signals cannot be decoded by traditional scanners."
    The company first introduced Digital service to Moncton in the fall of
1999. It was used to provide world class cellular service to the visitors and
delegates of the Francophonie Summit. Digital was then introduced to Saint
John in June of this year. With the existing digital coverage and the addition
of Fredericton, NBTel customers will have access to the largest digital
network in New Brunswick and across the Atlantic region due to their
partnership with the other Aliant companies, including MTT, Island Tel and
NewTel. The Aliant group of companies offer the only truly Atlantic Canadian
digital network, providing digital coverage in all four Atlantic provinces.
    "NBTel Mobility is the only cellular service provider in New Brunswick

    In addition, Ms. Fairweather said that digital service provides customers
with many of the most popular call management features at no extra cost. "Call
display, visual call waiting and message waiting indication are just some of
the features that will allow customers to manage their cellular calling more
effectively - and these services are included at no additional cost as part of
the customer's digital package," she said.
