Mr. Fell is a former Deputy Chairman of Royal Bank of Canada. He was with RBC Capital Markets (investment bank) and predecessor companies for 48 years including 18 years as Chief Executive Officer and a further 8 years as Chairman until his retirement in 2007.
Mr. Fell is a past Chairman of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada and a past Governor of the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Fell is also a past Chairman of the University Health Network, the United Way Campaign for Metropolitan Toronto, the Princess Margaret Hospital Capital Campaign and is a past Governor of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Program in Canada, St. Andrew’s College and the Ontario Division of the Canadian Arthritis Society. Mr. Fell was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2001 and received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from McMaster University in 2001 and from the University of Toronto in 2006.
Mr. Fell is a director on the BCE board since January 2002. He is also a member of the Audit Committee and the Management Resources and Compensation Committee.
Mr. Fell is also a director of Bell Canada, CAE Inc. and Loblaw Companies Limited.
