George Cope is leading the transformation of Canada’s largest communications company into an efficient customer-focused competitor, based on a strategy of enhanced service capability, significant broadband network investments and a high-performance team culture.

With industry-leading capital investments of approximately $6 billion in 2009 and 2010, Bell has launched a world-leading new mobile HSPA+ network and enhanced broadband fibre infrastructure to deliver advanced Television and Internet services.

Mr. Cope is a seasoned Canadian telecommunications executive who had served in public- company CEO roles in the industry for more than 15 years prior to joining Bell in 2005. He has earned a reputation as an innovative telecom strategist and builder of high-performance teams, successfully launching three next-generation Canadian digital networks during his career.

Mr. Cope holds a BComm (Honours) degree from the University of Western Ontario and serves on the Advisory Board of the university’s Richard Ivey School of Business.

Mr. Cope is also a director of Bank of Montreal and Bell Canada and Chair of the Board of Bell Aliant Inc.
