Bell's Employee Giving Program provides an opportunity for employees throughout Bell Canada and for retirees to donate directly to a wide array of charities through payroll deduction, personal credit card and cheque. In addition, Bell will match employee payroll contributions to United Way and any eligible Canadian post-secondary educational institution.

Employees are encouraged to enrol in the Employee Giving Program through the Company’s annual Employee Charity Campaign each fall. To enrol, please refer to your personalized email invitation sent to you on October 1. You may enroll at any time during the campaign period of October 1 to December 15. Which employees are eligible?
Employees throughout Bell (Bell Canada, Bell Aliant, Bell Mobility, BIMS and Bell TV), including temporary and part-time employees and Bell retirees are eligible to participate and make donations via payroll deduction, personal credit card and/or cheque. Contract employees are eligible to participate in making donations by personal credit card and/or cheque.
Is there a minimum contribution?
Yes, the minimum contribution is $25 per employee, per year and you can select up to 15 charities to support through payroll deduction. You may contribute to as many charities as you wish through personal credit card and by personal cheque.
How can I enrol?
You may enrol through your personalized email invitation received as the start of each annual Employee Charity Campaign in October. Please contact the Employee Giving Program Team at employeegiving@bell.ca or 1-866-670-8800 should you have questions
When will my contributions be deducted from my pay?
If you are already a donor your contributions will continue through to the end of December 2009 however you will need to enroll during the Employee Charity Campaign in October for your donations to continue as of January 2010. If you are enrolling in the Program for the first time during the Employee Charity Campaign your contributions will begin on the first pay in January 2010.
Can I change charities or modify my contributions at any time?
You may change charities, or increase or otherwise modify your contributions at any time during the Employee Charity Campaign in October through to December 15th for the following year’s contributions. To modify your donations outside of the campaign period please contact the Employee Giving Program Team at employeegiving@bell.ca or 1-866-670-8800.
What if I take a leave of absence?
Your contributions will be discontinued during an unpaid leave of absence and may be reinstated upon your return.
What if I retire?
Your contribution will be maintained and deducted from your pension cheque (For example, if you currently give $30 per pay every two weeks to your favourite charity, your contribution during retirement will be adjusted to $30 per month according to a single pay period - if you wish to continue giving the same amount - which in this example would be $60 per month - you can easily modify your contribution by contacting the Employee Giving Team by email at employeegiving@bell.ca or by phone 1 866 670-8800. Modifications can be made October 1 through to December 15th each year.
Can I select any type of charitable organization?
You may choose to support the United Way and/or any other registered Canadian charities. The enrollment system allows you to search charities by location and/or type of charity.
Why must the charitable organization be registered with Revenue Canada?
Bell can only report charitable donations on employees' and retirees' T4s if the organizations for which the funds are collected are registered with Revenue Canada.
How can I cancel my enrolment?
If you wish to cancel your enrolment you may contact the Employee Giving Team by email at employeegiving@bell.ca or by phone 1 866 670-8800. Your contributions do not continue if you choose not to enroll during the Employee Charity Campaign.
What happens if I can't complete the enrolment process online?

Can I donate to any Canadian charity when using my credit card?
Yes you can select any Canadian charity to support when using the credit card donation option..
What will I see on my credit card statement when I’ve made a charitable donation by credit card?
You will see an item shown as ‘United Way’ on your credit card statement, regardless of what charity or charities you are supporting. United Way will automatically redirect donations to other charities three times a year for Bell donors based on the donations received.
Is there a limit to how many charities I can support using my credit card?
No there is no limit, you can support as many charities as you wish.
Can I make regular donations?
Yes you can either make a one-time donation or choose to make monthly donations by credit card.
If I donate to United Way or a Canadian post-secondary educational institution by credit card, will Bell still match my donation ?
Yes Bell will match 100% of employee donations to United Way as well as Canadian colleges and universities whether made by payroll deduction, personal credit card or personal cheque. There is no minimum of maximum donation to qualify for the match.
Can I use my Bell corporate credit card to make donations?
No, this credit card donation tool is for personal charitable donations only.
Can I write one cheque for multiple donations to different charities?
Yes you can write a single cheque for donations to one or more charities you choose to support during the Employee Charity Campaign. Please make your cheque payable to United Way.
